The PSE Merle T. Lebakken Scholarship was launched in 2022 in honor of PSE’s late founder, Merle T. Lebakken. When Merle started PSE in 1974, he exemplified the importance of building and honoring client relationships. Today, that is still one of PSE’s driving forces and has influenced the last 50 years of PSE’s existence and the work we do today.
The PSE Merle T. Lebakken Scholarship is available to individuals pursuing a degree within the electrical power or industrial industries and who receive a letter of recommendation from a PSE employee or active client. The scholarship will be open annually, in the spring, and recipients will receive an award of either $2,500 for students attending a two-year college or $5,000 for students attending a four-year college or university. Up to two awards will be granted with disbursements occurring in the fall.
