Orthographic & Isometric Piping Drawings

After a process design has been completed, our team generates a 3D process piping system model based on information depicted in the Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). The 3D model allows for integration with building and pipe rack structural steel models to ensure design coordination and clash detection.

Once the model has been validated, our team produces the following:

  • General Arrangements Drawings: Provide information for locating major pieces of equipment
  • Orthographic Drawings: Include plot plans (top-down views) and section or elevation views (looking from the side), typically to-scale
  • Piping Isometric Drawings: Dimensioned drawings that give individual bills of material for smaller segments (spools) of an entire line. Isos are tagged with line numbers from the P&IDs and account for each valve and instrument along with the pipe and fittings that make up the line
  • Piping Isometrics: Allow for fabrication of pipe spools within a shop setting, rather than building each line in the field, which aids in efficiency and quality control
