  | An Energy Management System (EMS) typically refers to a suite of application software that supports generation and transmission applications. Example applications include Load Forecasting (LF), Unit Commitment (UC), Interchange Transaction Scheduling (ITS), Economic Dispatch (ED), Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Production Cost Monitoring (PCM), Energy Accounting (EA), and State Estimation.
The PSE team has experience designing, specifying, and implementing EMS applications. Our team includes persons who have staffed utility operation centers. We can assign core team members and subject matter experts to meet the needs of the project.

- Evaluate existing systems and develop migration and replacement strategies to meet changing business objectives.
- Pre-screen possible bidders and prepare Requests for Information (RFI).
- Develop procurement specifications and a complete Request for Proposal (RFP) including terms and conditions.
- Participate in vendor evaluations and scoring.
- Seek technical and business clarifications with vendors and contribute to or lead contract negotiations.
- Support detailed application design during system staging.
- Provide hands-on system configuration and integration services (e.g., databases, application configuration).
- Support system functional and performance testing.
