Power Delivery Planning

Electric distribution systems and operation planning has become increasingly complex at utilities. Pressures in the areas of customer service and reliability coupled with opportunities for automation, distributed generation, and other solutions are changing the shape of strategic plans. The Power Delivery Planning concept is a way to respond to these pressures and forge a clear and consistent direction.

The objective of a Power Delivery Plan is to prepare an electric service delivery strategy that focuses on improving customer service and maximizing benefits for each dollar invested in the electric plant, automation, and other efficiency tools. In particular, the plan is to consider reliability and cost impacts due to the application of alternate protection schemes, distribution automation, load management, distributed generation, outage management systems, and other technologies along with typical pole, wire, and substation alternatives.

A Power Delivery Plan will provide effective decision-making tools for Management, Engineering, and Operations. Power System Engineering, Inc. (PSE) has worked with many of their clients in realizing the value and efficiencies of solid planning for their situation.

PSE develops plans in a way that supports and strengthens client's current initiatives. PSE can lead or assist your organization with:
