Rate Comparisons and Competitive Assessments

While it is important to set rates that ensure financial viability, it is also important to ensure that the customer's perception is that the rates are fair and equitable. A customer’s perception of fair rates will often come from a comparison to the rates of neighboring utilities. With this in mind, Power System Engineering, Inc. (PSE) has prepared a number of rate comparison studies for our clients, including:

• Comparing “typical” customer bills under rate schedules available from neighboring utilities.
• Comparing specific customer monthly and annual bills (rate comparisons).
• Preparing internal rate comparisons when a customer could qualify for more than one rate at your utility (best rate analysis).
