Rick leads the Utility Automation and Communications Department at PSE. Rick and his staff provide automation and communications consulting and engineering services to utilities, including: technology work plans, strategic communications plans, procurement, SCADA design and project management of distribution automation, substation automation and design, AMI, demand response, GIS, MWM, AVL, OMS, IVR, and a variety of automation/communications areas, including land mobile radio, fiber and microwave backbones, mobile data, etc. Rick has over 25 years of professional relevant experience with an emphasis on the business side of technology. He has an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI.

As a Vice President of PSE’s Power Delivery and Design, Erik is responsible for overseeing the firm’s activities related to transmission and distribution studies, line and substation design, and O&M guidance. Erik joined PSE in 2006 as a Leader of System Planning and eventually became responsible for leading the firm’s efforts in transmission and distribution line design. Prior to joining PSE, he worked as a system engineer for a Michigan electric utility and as a planning engineer for a utility consulting firm in Minnesota. His areas of expertise are distribution and transmission planning, system protection and sectionalizing, distribution and transmission line design, power quality investigations, connection of large loads, facility agreements and project management. Erik received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University with an emphasis in power systems and is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states.

Rich currently leads PSE’s Economics, Rates, and Business Planning practice that has provided such services to a wide range of utility clients throughout the U.S. and abroad. Rich has over 13 years of experience in the area of utility finance, rates/pricing, cost of service and merger and acquisitions. Rich’s experience includes extensive utility rate and cost of service project work in both unregulated and regulated environments. He has also performed many acquisition and valuation assessments in market-based and forced acquisition projects. Rich enjoys the challenge of finding effective solutions and building consensus among various stakeholders in order to implement solutions that meet the client’s goals and objective. Rich holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with an emphasis on Finance and Strategy. He has taught and attended many courses on utility rates and cost of service and other industry topics throughout his career.

Jeff has over 30 years experience in with cooperative, municipal and industrial clients working on revenue requirements, cost of service, rate design, financial and regulatory matters. He has prepared expert testimony on behalf of regulated clients on numerous occasions, assisted with developing special rates for new loads, and assisted industrial customers with evaluating the impact of new utility rate proposals. Prior to joining PSE, Jeff worked in public accounting and, for several years, managed rates and regulatory issues for a Midwestern generation and transmission cooperative.
