Erik joined our team in 2006 as a Leader of System Planning and eventually became responsible for leading the firm’s efforts in transmission and distribution line design. Prior to joining PSE, he worked as a system engineer for a Michigan electric utility and as a planning engineer for a utility consulting firm in Minnesota. His areas of expertise are distribution and transmission planning, system protection and sectionalizing, distribution and transmission line design, power quality investigations, connection of large loads, facility agreements and project management. Erik received his BS in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University with an emphasis in power systems and is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states.

Doug provides guidance in the areas of system planning and line design for both transmission and distribution. This guidance includes long range plans, construction work plans, and system protection and sectionalizing studies in addition to work order inspection and electric utility operations. Doug’s experience also includes power supply analysis and large power contract drafting and negotiation on behalf of our clients. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems from South Dakota State University at Brookings. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in multiple states.

Rich leads the Economics, Rates, and Business Planning practice area at PSE where he serves on both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. He and his staff provide services to utilities and the utility industry in areas concerning business strategy, cost of service studies, rate design studies, demand-side management programs, resource planning, performance benchmarking, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory support, and expert testimony. He is frequently called upon to speak to utility management, directors, commissioners, and industry associations on a broad range of topics related to utility economics, finance, rates, and business strategy. In addition, Rich is currently serving on a Customer-Owned Distributed Generation Committee for a G&T cooperative and on a Net Metering Rate Subcommittee with the Minnesota Rural Electric Association. He holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and has nearly 20 years of experience consulting with electric utilities.
